Wow, where to start with this one? Sonya and Lee’s wedding at Red Brick Barn and The Old Parish Rooms was truly unique. Sonya designed her own dress and her friend Zoe made it. How cool is that?
The girls got ready in a beautiful victorian house right on the seafront in Thorpe Bay featuring the stunning view of the Thames Estuary that I love so much. I really do never tire of those views. The was so much fun and excitement in the air. Sonya kept herself busy adjusting dresses as required. She really is rather talented with a needle and thread.
The ceremony was at Red Brick Barn near Rochford. It’s a real hidden gem of a venue for weddings, right in the middle of a working farm with plenty of interesting features and backdrops for portraits. The beautiful winter light was really on my side for this part of the day plus the grain store barn was open and provided a great spot for some very unique group formals.
After the ceremony everyone got on a fantastic vintage red bus that took us to the reception at the Old Parish Rooms in Rayleigh. This lovely airy venue provides a beautifully clean space for parties and weddings. The food provided by the team from one of my favourite local restaurants Toulouse was delicious. Belly pork bites have to be one the best things I’ve tasted in a very long time. I really can’t recommend it enough.
It was a special day with lots of special people and one I won’t forget quickly. Here are the photos.
