Natural Engagement PhotographyI want my photography to be as natural and honest as possible. Even when taking “posed” portraits of couples there’s not much “look at the camera and smile” photographs. I want my couples to interact naturally and hopefully forget they’re being photographed from time to time. When this happens I can capture the connection between the people, something I find more important than anything in portraits.

I also hope that the way I work makes the process of having photos taken an enjoyable experience. So many people I meet dread having photos of themselves taken but all my couples end up enjoying their shoots.

Gemma and Neil chose to have their engagement shoot at Heybridge Basin, somewhere they like to go for walks regularly. It is such a beautiful spot full of potential for creative and natural portraits. We had a great time exploring and creating portraits together. I can’t wait for their wedding at Maidens Barn, it’s going to be awesome.

Here are the photos.
