I love a London wedding and was so pleased when Emily and Luke chose me to be their Century Club Wedding Photographer. When we talked on the phone and met for their pre-wedding shoot I knew these guys were going to be my kind of people. I mean, they met in my home town at legendary alternative music club The Pink Toothbrush so they have to be cool!
Making my way to meet Emily and the girls I walked through Soho at 9am on a Saturday morning. It was a strange experience. A place I’m so used to seeing packed with people was eerily empty but calm. Very appropriate on the morning of a wedding where the forecast was for another blazing hot July day.
I had a great morning with Emily and the girls. Everyone was really relaxed and excited about the day ahead. I’m sure you’ll all agree that Emily looked incredible in her Jenny Packham dress and Jimmy Choo shoes. Wow!
Luke didn’t disappoint either looking pretty dapper in his three piece. I met and the boys in the pub having a cold pint, perfect preparation. Walking with them through a very different Soho to the one I experienced in the morning was great.
The ceremony and reception were at the very cool Century Club on Shaftesbury Avenue. After the ceremony drinks were served on the roof terrace which was decorated in a Moroccan style. The speeches were some of the best I’ve heard, every single one was hilariously funny. At times it was difficult to keep taking photos I was laughing so much. That same sense of fun and energy carried onto the dance floor. The sight of Emily giving it everything she had to Proud Mary was a sight to behold and something I won’t forget. Great stuff.
Thanks to everyone I met for making me feel so welcome and part of the wedding, especially Emily and Luke. You were both fantastic. Here is their wedding story in a few of my favourite photos.
