I’m really excited to be sharing Ruby and Liam’s wedding at Vaulty Manor, Essex. This was my first time at the venue and I can now safely say I’d look forward to being a Vaulty Manor Wedding Photographer again in the future. Great venue. Vaulty Manor is located in the Maldon countryside, surrounded in corn fields. You’ll see some of those during Ruby and Liam’s sunset portraits in the photos below. The ceremony and reception rooms are in a historic 17th century Baronial Barn giving a rustic feel. Vaulty Manor also boasts onsite accommodation, perfect for getting ready and crawling distance for crashing out after the party.
Ruby and Liam made maximum use of the available accommodation with both of them getting ready onsite. This allowed me to start their story with photos of both wedding party preparations. Ruby enjoyed a relaxing morning in the bridal suite surrounded by her closest family. Meanwhile the boys were putting final touches to the venue and having the off beer or two. More than once, Liam needed to be shielded with a groomsman’s jacket as he passed Ruby’s window so that the couple didn’t see each other!
The ceremony was full of joy and emotion, I particularly loved the nervous look on Liam’s face as his bride was about to walk down the aisle and the confetti afterwards was so much fun. After a brief downpour, the rain cleared to leave stunning blue skies and sunshine. Then the speeches! Everyone was great but Liam’s best man and brother needs a special mention for his unique and hilarious attack on his brother’s character. Great job, Liam’s face in the photos hopefully sums it up.
After being blessed with an amazing sunset for portrait time the party got started. And these guys really knew how to party! The dance floor was banging from the very start. Shapes were thrown, hand stands performed, songs were sung at the top of voices and so much fun was had.
A huge thank you to Ruby, Liam and all their friends and family. I had a fantastic day with you all. You understood my documentary approach to wedding photography and welcomed me like I was a guest. I couldn’t have asked for any more. I’ll leave the last word to Ruby and Liam, here’s what they had to say about their weddings photos:
“We absolutely LOVE our photos, thank you so much. We spent ages going through all of them. The documentary shots are awesome and really capture the happiness and fun we experienced on the day with the dance floor ones being particularly hilarious. The portraits are stunning, those sky colours! Exactly what we wanted and we can’t wait to laugh with our family and friends when we look at them together.
Thank you so much again for everything. Everyone agreed you were brilliant on the day. We would no hesitate to recommend you. Your style, relaxed attitude were exactly what we were looking for and we could not be happier with the finished photos!”
If you’re currently planning your wedding I’d love to hear about your plans. To see more of my work my Best Wedding Photography of 2017 post is a great place to start.
