Essex Wedding Photography

Q. You are based in Essex but do you travel for weddings?
A. Yes. I’m more than happy to travel to where ever you are getting married. In fact, more than 50% of my weddings are outside Essex. I’ll even get on a plane if you want me to!

Q. I hate having my picture taken, how do you deal with that?
A. Don’t worry, I know exactly how you feel and you are certainly not alone! Pretty much every couple I have worked with has felt this way. In fact, very few people like having their photo taken. My approach of letting the day happen and capturing you, your partner and guests interacting naturally and looking happy together is the way I deal with this. After a while you’ll forget I’m there taking photos and get on with enjoying your day.

Q. What preparations do you make for a wedding?
A. About two months before a wedding I send a questionnaire to my couples requesting information of the final details such as timings, locations and group shots. This gives me all of the information I need and ensures I am fully prepared.

Q. Do you use flash?
A. For the vast majority of the day no, I don’t use flash. As a predominantly documentary photographer so I want to be as unobtrusive as possible and record the scene as people saw it. I work with the available light using high performance cameras and prime lenses that let in a lot of light. The only times I use flash are on the dancefloor and during the portrait sessions.

Q. Do you have back up equipment?
A. Yes, I always carry a minimum of three camera bodies and multiple lenses at every wedding. My cameras save your photos to two separate memory cards simultaneously in camera so in the unlikely event that a card goes corrupt, I always have a back up of your images.

Q. Do you take formal group shots?
A. Yes, of course. Although I am predominantly a documentary wedding photographer, I understand that most weddings require a certain amount of traditional group photos. Nobody wants to be standing around waiting for a bossy photographer to direct them so I organise this section of your day very quickly, then move on to getting the natural photos you will see here on my website.

Q. Are you insured?
A. Yes. I am insured for both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity.

Q. How many photographs will we receive?
A. Every wedding is unique and different. No two are the same. So the number of photos delivered varies from wedding to wedding. However, from 12 hours of coverage it’s usually around 400-500. My couples receive a full set in colour and a full set in black and white.

Q. Can we print our own photographs?
A. Yes, of course, you can make as many prints as you like. I can recommend printers. For professional quality prints you can order via your password protected online gallery which will also be available for friends and family to place orders and view your photos.

Q. Do you do albums?
A. Yes, I most certainly do. They are the perfect way to display your photos. You can find more about the albums that I offer by clicking here.

Q. How do we book?
A. Please contact me any time so that I can check my availability and send you my pricing guide. After that we can Skype or meet up to discuss your wedding and get to know each other. To confirm your booking I will need a completed contract and non-returnable deposit of £500 which is usually paid via bank transfer.
